A Date Has Been Set
Today we went to the doctor for another checkup. We had an ultra sound done to make sure Tucker is doing well. He weighs approximately 6lbs 7oz. I was lucky enough to only gain 1 lb this week. Everything is looking good....except that Tucker does not want to cooperate. Tucker is breech, feet down. With this said, we have scheduled a c-section. It has been scheduled for noon on April 16th, just 2 weeks away. There is a very small chance that he would change positions. If this were to happen, they would cancel the c-section. I guess on a good note, we know exactly when he'll be here (unless I go into labor first) and we have 2 weeks to finish getting everything ready for his arrival.

Busy Month
Whew! It's been a busy month! Over the past month, Matt and I took Labor of Love (birthing) classes. These were very interesting and helpful. Matt even got to wear a pregnant body suit...hehe! I had my last baby shower which was thrown by my wonderful friends at the office. Tucker has received some of the cutest clothes and gifts. Matt and I met and interviewed with 2 different Pediatricians and have picked Tucker's Doctor. About 2 weeks ago, Matt and I met up with a professional photographer and had some maternity/belly pictures taken. We should get the proofs back soon and can't wait to share them with everybody. They sneak peak looked awesome. We had so much fun taking them! Today we had our 36 week checkup...wow...I can't believe I'm already 36 weeks! I have gained 3 more lbs, bringing me up to a total of 34lbs. I have dilated to 1.5-2. The Dr. thinks Tucker is still breech. We go back next week and will be checked again. They will also do an ultrasound. Depending on Tucker's position next week, we'll know whether or not a c-section is needed. Other than this, everything is going great! We've spent the month getting the nursery set up and will post pictures soon!

Baby Showers
Whew! What a fun and long weekend! I spent Saturday and Sunday with lots of friends and family at 2 different baby showers. We received so many great presents for Tucker and his nursery. Many of the items were from our baby registries. Surprisingly, we did not get very many outfits. At both of our baby showers, we asked everybody to bring a book to jump start Tucker's library. Just about everybody brought a book and wrote a message in it for Tucker. We received many great books and will enjoy reading them to Tucker when he gets here. We've already started reading to Tucker on occasion before heading to bed. This past weekend was so much fun! Although I was exhausted, I didn't want it to end! Thank you to all of my wonderful friends and family!!! We can't wait for you to meet baby Tucker!

32 Week Report
This week's checkup turned out to be good. I have gained 3 more lbs. bringing me up to 25 lbs. total. My blood pressure continues to be good. The one snag we hit this week was that my belly measurement dropped to 28 weeks instead of growing. The Dr. said it could be because of a few things and so they decided we need an ultrasound to check it out. First they measured Tucker. His measurements look good. He's weighing in about 4lbs right now. Then they measured my amniotic fluid and that looked good. So with that said, the Dr. thinks it's just the way Tucker has shifted and is sitting inside of me. We go back in two weeks and I'm sure they will check everything again. On a different note, Matt and I started our birthing classes - Labor of Love. They have been very useful. We have two more classes to go until we're done. T minus 2 months!! :)

Glucose Test Results

Today at our checkup we learned that I had great results from my glucose test for Gestational Diabetes....No Diabetes!! Yay! My blood pressure is also very low. I have gained 22lbs to date and am right on target. Tucker is doing very good! For some reason today, he decided he wanted to be active during our checkup. The entire time we were trying to hear his heartbeat, he was kickin' away! He was entertaining us. I'm getting excited...my baby shower dates have officially been set. I can't wait to get together with all of my friends and family!

28 Week Dr. Visit
Today we had our checkup for the 28th week mark. I will technically be 28 weeks tomorrow, Friday. The visit went well. We got to hear Tucker's heartbeat. It was nice and strong! I have gained 20lbs to date. Tucker is probably weighting in somewhere around 2lbs at this point. My belly is measuring right on target. I also had to take my glucose test for Gestational Diabetes today. I should know these results next week sometime. Matt and I asked lots of questions about the weeks to come and preparation such as paediatricians, birthing classes, tours, etc. From now until the final month, we will have checkups every 2 weeks. We are getting very excited!! Tucker is moving more and more every day!

Fred & Sarah Get a House
Today was an exciting day. Sarah's boyfriend, Fred, purchased his first home. Sarah is very excited since she will be moving in with him. I am excited because they are 3 minutes away and will be able to help out all summer while Matt is on the road with work. Tonight we had a painting and cleaning party at the new house. They plan to be moved in by this weekend. Congrats Fred!!

Christmas 2009
We hope all of our friends and family had a wonderful Christmas! We spent Christmas Eve with my family...children's pageant at Church then back to my parents house to eat chili and watch White Christmas (I'm such a traditionalist)! Matt, the Dogs, and I woke up Christmas morning and opened presents. We then packed our bags and headed to mom and dads to open more gifts. After opening gifts, we headed to the airport to catch a flight to Rochester, NY to visit my grandfather and other family. We spent about 4 days there and were able to enjoy 5 inches of fresh snow!! I wasn't able to partake in some of our typical outings, but Matt enjoyed skiing and sledding while there. We headed home on the 30th. Matt spent New Year's Eve working and I spent the night with my dad watching the University of Tennessee football game. I can't believe another year has come and gone...wow! This year (2010) is sure to be a great one! We are looking forward to welcoming Baby Tucker into the world and experiencing so many things with him. We wish everybody a happy and healthy new year!!

A Busy Week Before Christmas!
This week was a very busy week! Monday night was Matt's company Christmas Party at the Palm. Much fun was had! Tuesday we volunteered our time with the Salvation Army Angel Tree. We helped distribute gifts to those less fortunate. Each year we look forward to helping this great cause. Wednesday night, Matt and I joined my sister Sarah and some friends for a night of dancing and celebrating. Thursday night was spent eating a very very yummy dinner at Ruth's Chris with some very close friends and Tucker's God Mother Kim. Tonight, Friday, was a very special night. My sister, Sarah had her pinning ceremony for Nursing School. We are so proud of her for graduating!! Way to go Nurse Sarah! The weekend ahead looks to be just as busy. Hopefully we will have a little down time before Christmas arrives.Thursday, December 10, 2009
Such a neat feeling!
Wow! This past week was the first time I was able to feel baby Tucker moving inside of me. I wasn't sure if what I was feeling was him moving or not, but after a day, I realized that's exactly what it was. That is such a neat feeling! Matt has been able to put his hand on my belly and feel Tucker kicking. Last night, was the first time I was able to see my belly move from him kicking. Very cool! We are excited to continue to watch the changes in my belly as I move into the second half of my pregnancy. Keep tuned!
